Travelling outside your country can be a dream come true. However, it can transform into a nightmare if you get sick while you are at your destination. Here are a few tips on how to stay healthy during your trip.
First, choose what you eat and drink carefully. While it is tempting to try out street foods, you will never know how they were prepared. Stick to clean restaurants or established fastfood chains. If you are preparing your own meals, wash the items thoroughly before eating or cooking them. You should also take care to drink bottled water instead of what comes out of a tap.
Next, do some exercises. If the hotel where you are staying in does not have a gym, go out and take a walk for a few blocks. Walking is not just a good workout but a wholesome activity that allows you to see your destination up close. If you want a more rigorous activity to pump up your system, you can jog around the area instead.
Finally, wash your hands often, especially after it comes in contact with frequently held items such as money, the hotel room phone, or the pen that the front desk staff hands you. You should also have a bottle of anti-bacterial gel cleanser in your bag in case you do not have access to warm water or soap.
